Our lodge
Baptiste Lake Lodge is a scenic wilderness setting offering the comforts of home. Only accessible by float plane, the lodge offers adventure, privacy and exclusivity. Your party is the only one in camp and you are the only fishermen on three beautiful lakes permitted for our exclusive use. Once in camp, you are on your own to do what you want, when you want.
The four-day, four-night fishing package is all inclusive, except for food and beverages. We fly you in from La Ronge, some 85 miles to camp in a turbo Otter or twin Otter, depending on the size of your group. Some say the scenic low-level flight in itself is worth the price of the trip.
We provide airfare, lodging, boats, motors, gasoline and propane. A party of six fishermen works well, but our log cabin is large and will accommodate eight comfortably. There are no guides or camp personnel. You are on your own, but we provide everything for you to be self-sufficient.
The cabin has eight bunks in three bedrooms (more in the loft), a wood stove, two refrigerators/freezers, an oven/range, barbecue, cookware and utensils, electricity and hot and cold running water. There is an in-suite shower. Water is pumped from the lake and electricity is provided by a generator. A nearby fire pit overlooking Baptiste Lake provides a great venue for sundowners while telling of the day's experiences. There is a satellite phone to communicate with the outside world.
La Ronge is about 500 miles north of the U.S. border. It can be reached in a leisurely day's drive through Saskatoon and Prince Albert. Both cities provide an opportunity for purchasing supplies and fishing licenses, as does La Ronge.
You can also fly into La Ronge with light aircraft after clearing customs in Saskatoon. There is a paved airstrip, fuel and security for the planes. The airport is close to town and a ride in can be arranged. We have a special arrangement with a nice motel right at the float plane base, with good dining close by. Rest up from the day's travel and fly into camp at first light the next morning.
